First Blog Ever...

Hi, I'm Tom. I'm an 18 year old prospective pilot from New Zealand, training in Christchurch for my Commercial Pilot's Licence. It's a lot of work, so for those of you out there who feel training to be a pilot is the easy way out of going to university, think again! I enjoy anything aviation, I live, breathe, sleep, feel, eat, drink, blog and taste the subject - ok, maybe a bit too far, but you get the idea!

I love taking pictures of aircraft, which you will probably see at a later stage. Additionally, you will see that loving taking pictures of aircraft and being good at taking pictures of aircraft are two totally different, unconnected things indeed! I enjoy it all the same: It's a real buzz when you get that perfect shot, or so I've heard.

I also love flight simulation, and has to rank among my top hobbies. I find that it's great practice for the real thing, and have over 800, yes 800 flight simulator hours! I have no life...

That's about it for this first blog. Keep checking for updates as adding information will probably be scattered and seemingly random, as I try to balance flying almost every day with a killer CPL theory syllabus. As you can tell, I don't get as much free time as I used to.

Catchya later! Viva la Tomahawk!
